The shallow end of the pool

TV, eyeliner, hair, and general hotness. And some bitching.

How the week was spent:

'Heroes' still has me in its grip. My feelings for that show is basically what my feelings for 'Lost' were in the first season - I'm just hoping I won't be disappointed and lose interest in this one. What bothers me with 'Lost' now is the same stuff that probably bothers a lot of viewers; and mainly the whole dropping of storylines. What the hell happened to the big island monster that killed AgentPilotSean? Did it just disappear when Eko stared it down? And what about the polar bears, and the horse that Kate saw? It just annoys me. It's not very difficult to make a show strange and at first intriguing if you don't ever really intend to explain the strange stuff that happens. That is called cheating.

As for 'Heroes'... A good show this week, but too much Mohinder. Seriously. I wish I didn't feel this way about the possibly most beautiful man on the show, but the character and his exposition just bores. Heh. The man who bores walks while he snores. I'm sorry, but his storyline would so be FF'd if I weren't watching the show along with my mother who would think that a crime.
But what happened to Hiro?! What did he change that caused him to end up on Memory Girl's birthday photo but prevented him from coming back to the café in the five seconds he promised it'd take?
And Isaac? Looked like a sixteen year old boy. What was with the fluffy hair? He looked way hotter with the straggly, unwashed hair and the stubble. I need stubble. I suppose Pixie's (dammit! I can't see her as Eden) ability is persuasion or hypnosis or something like that. I'm still on the fence about whether she and Mr Bennet are working for good or bad... Mr Bennet does seem to care for his daughter, but his sidekick Haitian boy? He's kinda scary.
I liked Radiation Man, hope we'll see more of him. Can we replace Matt with him? As much as I love Greg Grunberg and his teddy bear self, his character kinda bores, too.
The lack of Petrelli brothers made me sad. Lack of Simone, good.

And then there's 'Supernatural'. Holy crap. I'm so friggin hooked on this damn show as well, and I don't have time for that. Yet, I spend ages on spoiling myself and watching episodes on youtube. Why? Why did I have to watch this show last week? Why did it have to draw me in like this? Now, I'm not getting out.
Jensen Ackles has really come on since 'Days'. Really. And I'm not talking looks wise here either, even though this is the shallow end of the pool. I mean, sure, he's pure beauty, but damn if he's not also making me tear up in every other episode I watch. Boy sure knows how to bring the angst when the occasion calls for it, and he's making Dean Winchester into one of the most interesting and sympathetic characters I've watched on TV. Yeah, he's good, and so is Jared Padalecki, actually, although not quite in the same league. It's nice to see some real acting after having spent a few years stuck in Tree Hill land without escape.

And while speaking of that travesty of a show, loved the dig SN made in one episode.
- Oh, and I met what's-his-name, something Michael Murray at a bar.
- Who?

Heh.

So, yes, in addition to being 'Heroes's bitch, I'm now also SN's bitch.
And JA's bitch too, if he wanted.

It's Buffy but with hot boys

So, Supernatural premiered on Tuesday. I enjoyed it. The one thing that bothered me was that cute/needyDean wasn't actually playing Dean, but Sam. Having a character called Dean and not having Jared Padalecki play him? Talk about confusing.

My first thought when Jensen Ackles appeared was Holy shit, it's evil Sami's twin! Yes, I used to watch Days Of Our Lives. I'm not saying it proudly. I'm probably using the same tone that Jensen Ackles uses when he talks about being on the damn show. I'm glad he got out and moved on to bigger and better things - he surprised me by actually being able to act. I guess DOOL just sucks your acting ability right out of you, forcing you to do that lingering evil/confused/sad/horrified face for about half a minute before going into commercial break.

Did I mention JA has grown hot? I thought he was kinda girlishly pretty on Days, but da-yum. Eyeliner really does suit him as well as the overall scruffy look. Cute/needyDean has nothing on him.

"That Constance chick, what a bitch!"

"You smell like a toilet."

The show has cuteness and snark (and appears to have some possibilities for HoYay)? Bound to be a hit with me.

Welcome.

I'm TV's bitch. This is a well known fact. I think it's also relatively well known that I like dipping my toes in the shallow end of the pool while watching certain shows, and that I love bitching about certain other shows. But to keep from clogging up my regular blog with shallowness and bitchin', I decided that it needed its own place.

So, welcome to shallowness without pity.
